Government of Pakistan is currently facing an unprecedented energy crisis. Shortage of energy, including both electricity and gas, is considered to be a major road block to the Pakistan's rapid economic growth and poverty reduction. The prices of both continue to increase due to a sharp increase in their demand, adding to the worries of the crises-hit dwellers. The consumers are facing many difficulties because of the gas loadshedding.
Pakistan Domestic Biogas Programme (PDBP), a project by RSPN has been started with the collaboration of SNV , EKN and WinRoack International in 2009. The working areas for this programme are Faisalabad, Sargodha, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Khushab, Sahiwal, Chiniot, Nankana, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, PakPatan and Okara
